I’m having the same problem. When explanding a user under accounts it displays “loading…” and won’t do anything else. Trying to add a host brings up the dialog but crashes the administrator app when pressing the “add” button.
Frustrating.

Using MySQL Admin for the first time on my iMac, I too ran into the ‘No host selected’ error. It took me a while, but finally figured out I had to click the little grey triangle (or arrow) pointing to the user. This opens up a drop-down list of hosts under the user — surprise! Select which host, and proceed to adding privileges…(everything’s easy when you know how!)

Hey, I’ve been addicted to MySQL Administrator in Windows for years, and it was very strange on Mac that it doesn’t work exactly the same way. The ‘host’ option gave me some thinking, thanks for being available with the solution in Google.

I’ve added ‘localhost’ to the users’ hosts and it works great. Still, one might want to keep an eye on ‘%’ because that means ‘any host from the Internet’, so the default might mean ‘nooooo localhost, but anyone else – sure’
