MBV Set List 6.13.2008 ICA

Yep that’s right! It was announced late last year yet those of us who’ve been fans since the early 90s had many reasons to be suspicious. But they just played 2 warm-up gig’s at the London ICA Friday and Saturday night for their string of shows next week at the Roundhouse. Here’s a review from NME. And a Flickr set I found from Friday night’s gig. They’ll be coming to the states in the Fall. This all makes me very happy!

Stevie Playing Jag

Got a call today from my friend Peter at Music 6000 saying they just got one of the Classic Player Jag’s. So I headed down there after work to take it for a spin. And…

All work and very little play

I’ve been pretty busy since my last update 10 days ago. Finished the first wave of projects for Allied, started learning ASP.net, took Iris for a few bike rides, and a bunch of other stuff that’s probably too boring to write about. So the long and short of it is… I’ve been taking care of business.

Starting on another wave of projects for Allied. I checked out 2 books form the library about working with MS Exchange. The big one is called “Exchange Server 2003 Unleashed.” It’s crazy huge… over 1000 pages. Pretty much everything I need to know is in the book and stuff that isn’t is just a Google search away. Strangely looking forward to mastering these MS enterprise products as it will look good on the ol’ resume.

I’ll also be revamping Allied’s web site, which is going to keep me busy the next week to two weeks! More on this later…

Now I’ll finally be able to pay off my Jazzmaster!

As it happens

Been kind of a slow week due to the figurative holiday weekend hangover. But the workday has still been keeping me busy. The Distressed Properties DVD will be in Brokers hands Friday which means I spent most of the last 2 days preparing it for consumption on the web.

Left my computer converting .mov files to .flv overnight on Tuesday so when I showed up to work this morning they were ready for publishing. We decided to split the DVD up into 6 chapters for the web which will hopefully make the incredibly dry content more palatable. Fortunately we use this company called Influxis that only does Flash Media Server hosting so things stream quite nicely. My boss was pleased with the outcome and we can only hope membership feels the same.

The rest of the week will likely be mellow…
